Marc Alaurent


Marc Alaurent, 53, is senior VP External Relations/Corporate Business Development at LaSer (Groupe Galeries Lafayette – Groupe BNP Paribas 50/50). He is also in charge, at corporate level, of payment related issues, SEPA and, until recently, of new products marketing.
He has held over the last 20 years several positions at LaSer including Credit Risk Manager at Cofinoga, Development Manager France, International Development Head Manager, and Strategical Process Manager.
Before joining LaSer Cofinoga, Marc worked for Peugeot SA Finance Division where he held various positions in Paris, Milan and Frankfurt, including I.S. Project Manager Europe, Marketing and Development Manager, and Assistant Operations Manager.

After launching a start up animation movie company in Canada in 74, he initiated a finance career at Caisse de Dépots et Placements du Quebec in Montreal as a financial analyst. He move on to Banque Francaise Du Commerce Exterieur (BFCE, now in Natexis Banques Populaires) in Paris in 78.

Marc graduated from H.E.C. (Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales) in Montréal (University of Montreal Business School) , the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and studied at University of Montreal in Economy,.He also studied Japanese at Université de Paris and Università Statale di Milano.

Nav Bains


Dr. Nav Bains is the GSMA Project Director for the NFC and the "Pay-Buy Mobile" (M-Payment) initiatives
Nav has over 17 years experience in the telecommunications industry and has successfully managed a number of large communications projects
Prior to GSMA, Nav has worked for LogicaCMG and ICO Global communications.

Raffi Basmadjian


Raffi started his career 15 years ago within France Telecom Treasury. Mainly focused on cash management processes and procedures, dealing with bank architecture and cash pooling, he helped France Telecom to move to a single treasury application accessible from remote workstation using a client server mode. He is now designing and building the future, web based, centralized treasury of the FT Group including various processes like Netting, Payment Factory and CashPooling.

Brent Bellm


Brent Bellm has served as Vice President and General Manager of PayPal Europe since October 2005. He joined eBay Inc. in April 2001 as Director of Corporate Strategy and played an active role in the acquisition of PayPal. After completion of that acquisition in October 2002, he transferred to PayPal and led its global strategy from 2003-2005. Prior to eBay, Mr Bellm worked at the management consulting firm McKinsey and Company from 1993-2000, where he focused on the retail, e-commerce and payments industries.

Mr Bellm has also worked for three banks, including Credit Suisse in Switzerland, Goldman Sachs in New York, and the community bank founded by his great-great-grandfather in Illinois. Mr Bellm received a B.A. from Stanford University in Economics and International Relations and an M.B.A. from Harvard University, both with highest academic honors.

Charles Bryant


Charles Bryant now acts as a consultant in the payments industry. He is currently engaged as Senior Adviser to the Euro Banking Association with a focus on e-invoicing and supply chain integration. He was formerly Secretary General of the European Payments Council from 2004 to 2007 and was closely engaged in the design and launch planning of SEPA. In prior roles he was a senior executive at SWIFT responsible in various capacities for payments, market infrastructures, sales and strategy, and spent 25 years in international banking with Chase, Midland and Natwest.

John Bullard


John has a background of over 20 years in banking- with Barclays in the UK, US (California 1980’s & Wall Street 1990’s), and Europe & Asia; his responsibilities centred primarily around relationship management for Financial Institutions and larger Corporates for Barclays – especially in periods of change (eg deregulation in the London markets); from this he became Director at Group Operational Risk (eCommerce) at Barclays corporate HQ in London.

From this role, John was selected to join IdenTrust at its original foundation in 1999 as a bank consortium (Barclays was a founder shareholder), and has managed much of the worldwide (mainly non US) external-facing issues, as the young enterprise charted its way through its early years.

As the Company’s Global Ambassador, he brings a wealth of experience and insight particularly from the banking and the end-Customer perspective about what is needed by way of Trust & Integrity in managing operational risk ( including Supply Chain, for Corporates, the Public Sector, and ultimately the Citizen), in the era of a ubiquitous global “Networked Economy”.

John is based out of IdenTrust’s offices in London with a team focused on successful partnering and collaborative working with Corporates, Governments, Banks and a wide Partner community, as IdenTrust helps to address their challenges in the e-ID space.

Dominique Buysschaert


Trilingual entrepreneur with large expertise in legal & corporate affairs, real estate, HR & social matters, risk management, public affairs & communication, project management, organisation & development.
Member of the Brussels bar during 20 years (1978 – 1998), as partner in different major law firms, specialized in commercial & corporate law, M&A, intellectual property, civil law, responsibility, and great interest for arbitration and mediation.

General Counsel during > 8 years of GB and later Carrefour Belgium (1998 – 2006), secretary of the board of directors and member of the management committee, in charge of the legal department, real estate, risk management, public affairs, and other matters and specific projects. Director on behalf of Carrefour at FEDIS, the Belgian federation of large retailers.

Designer of the innovating concept PAYFAIR, the new European Payment Scheme, and co-founder and CEO of European Payment Solutions (2006-2008).

Hobbies: gardening, travelling, history, photography, old timers and sport (hockey, tennis, golf, ski, sailing).

Pablo Castillón


Pablo is part of the IBM US banking practice based out of Chicago. He is currently working in the Benelux region on a long term international assignment, where he is responsible for driving selected business solutions into the banking sector, including those related to core banking and payments. He recently authored a whitepaper on financial supply chain, and is a regular speaker on the subject. As a business development executive, Pablo is also actively engaged in building strategic initiatives with key vendors for the region.

John Chaplin


John Chaplin is Chairman of Glasshouse Partnership, a London-based marketing and communications consultancy and also European Payments Adviser for First Data. Previously he held a number of senior executive roles at Visa, where he ran the European processing business for many years, and Honeywell Inc where he held senior business development positions. He is visiting lecturer on the Westminster University MBA programme

Olivier Denecker


Olivier Denecker is a European Payments Practice Expert in McKinsey & Company’s Benelux Knowledge Centre. He leads the European Payments Practice Research Group and has been with McKinsey & Co for 8 years. Olivier has a large experience in the European banking sector, with a specific focus on payments. He has served specialized payment operators as well as banks and card issuers and has participated on multiple internal research projects on business dynamics of the payment industry, pan-European credit card strategies, consolidation in the card processing in Europe and the drivers of cost differences between payment instruments for both banks and retailers. Olivier has a degree in Commercial Engineering (Handels- en Bedrijfseconomisch Ingenieur) from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.
